Jeremy and Paige – Part 2 – Plainville Wedding Photography

So I normally torture people and make them wait a full day before I blog the second half of their wedding (you know…the build the anticipation!)…but because I’m leaving for a photography conference super soon, I am going to break my own rule!

Just like their ceremony, Jeremy and Paige’s reception was full of beautiful details, and personalized touches. From the placemats to the dinner line, the entire reception reflected their love of rustic and vintage. The perfect end to the perfect day included fireworks, as the couple watched from a horse drawn carriage.

Jeremy and Paige – Part 1 Wedding Preview

Exactly a week ago, I headed up to the Plainville, KS area for Jeremy and Paige’s outdoor, rustic-themed wedding. I love shooting outdoors, so this was a real honor to document their day. The details were beautiful, and with the help of Mona and Nel (who assisted in keeping things running), the day kept on going! Jeremy and Paige, I hope these images help bring the day back for you!

Last year, Miss M’s mom, Chelsea, contacted me about a portrait session, and we had so much fun! I was even more excited, however, when Mark asked me to be prepared for newborn and family pictures once Miss K arrived! Although we never got her to sleep, she’s still pretty cute. You might recognize Mark as a co-owner of Northwest Signs and Awards in downtown Hays – he also produced the sign for my studio on 8th as well! I have enjoyed getting to know the Pechanec family both personally, and as fellow business owners in the Hays area.

Mark and Peggy – Salina Engagement Photographer

Last weekend I bonded with Mark and Peggy. Well, maybe more like Mark just listened to Peggy and I on the short drive out to Coronado Heights southwest of Salina. We talked Garmins, jobs, dogs (how cute is their dog, Bowser?!), wedding plans, and our mutual disdain for scary movies. I had so much fun with these two, and I hope they did too! We ended the session with dinner at Daimaru Japanese Steakhouse in Salina….yes, I think we’ll get along quite famously!

Ashley L – Ellis High Senior Model

Aaron and Jami – Hays engagement photography

Last weekend Aaron, Jami, and I headed to downtown Hays for their enhanced engagement session, as well as out to Jami’s grandparents’ farm. The morning started with makeup at Rejuvenations with Dax McLoughlin, makeup artist. It’s always so much fun when brides choose to have their makeup trial run done on the day of their engagement pictures – it adds something fun to the day! The day wasn’t all business, as I got to play cards with Jami’s son while they finished getting ready to go. Mr. C hung out with us for a few pictures…what a handsome little guy!

Aaron and Jami, I am looking forward to your November wedding! We are going to have so much fun!

Dwayne and Amy – Part 2 – Western Kansas Wedding Photography

As promised, here are more from Dwayne and Amy’s big day!

After the ceremony, the skies were clear, so we headed back to Hays to take some fun pictures! The first stop was Gellas in Downtown Hays. Amy had a very specific idea she wanted to try with her bridesmaids…I think it turned out great! Of course, the girls listened and the guys couldn’t all look at the camera together…oh well! That’s boys for ya! We had a few minutes to take some pictures around Gellas, but all too soon we were out of time!

We headed off to the reception, which took place at the Ramada of Hays. The room was totally transformed like I’ve never seen it before! Beautiful blue uplighting set the mood, as did the elegant floral centerpieces, and the elaborate cake by Linda Augustine. After dinner and cake, tons of people hit the dance floor!

Amy and Dwayne, I enjoyed spending the day with you and hope your honeymoon was epically awesome!

Billed to be the stormiest day of the spring thus far, Dwayne and Amy’s wedding day dawned with the promise of stormy skies and a rainy wedding day. The weather did not, however, dampen the mood! Amy and the girls prepared at J Studio and Salon in downtown Hays, before trekking north to Plainville. Dwayne and the guys got ready at the church, in the typical 10.3 seconds it takes guys to get ready! The always fabulous Regeena’s Flowers and Events provided some beautiful floral works of art, and Amy’s dress and details were gorgeous.

Luke and Kennedy – Hays Engagement Session

Luke and Kennedy are such good sports – we met at 8:30 on a Sunday morning to fit their engagement session into their busy day! It was FREEZING, but you can’t even tell!
