Last weekend I met Lauren in Abilene for her senior model shoot. I first met Lauren about 12 or 13 years ago, and have although I haven’t seen her for a loooooooong time, it was so great to spend some time with her! Lauren and her sister, Lisa, show horses and are very involved in 4-H and FFA, and purchased a show horse from my family. It was a lot of fun to help them out with getting ready to show, and I am so glad to see they have kept at it, and are so very talented today!
Lauren, I can’t wait for your regular session this summer! Here is your sneak peek!

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to meet Traci Konrade with the Downtown Hays Development Cooperation. Traci also happens to be a photographer, and is the face behind T Studio Design here in Hays. Over dinner, we chatted about photography, Hays, life in general, and more photography.
I mentioned I was attending AfterDark, a type of photography workshop/conference, and she said she had a friend attending too! Somehow, Kari and I managed to meet in Dallas (even though she’s from Kansas!), and we hit it off.
When Kari asked me last week if I was interested in shooting with her and Traci, I was, of course interested! Traci had located a senior, the lovely Katelyn, who was willing to model for us. There was a twist – at the end of the day, Traci’s boyfriend, Jerrod, would propose to her. I was all about it.
We had lots of fun shooting with Katelyn around downtown…then we headed out to a location outside of Hays. Jerrod was already staked out, and after Kari got Traci (who still had no clue!) into position, Jerrod proposed. It was an amazing experience to watch! It was made even better when family and friends walked out – another surprise.
I am so glad I was able to help document this moment! Congrats to Jerrod and Traci – and Katelyn, you are a great model, but an even greater co-conspirator!![]()

I am so looking forward to Ben and Alysa’s rustic chic inspired wedding this fall! We had fun at their engagement session….even if Ben does think I’m a little crazy (I think he does!)

I was pretty excited when Baby A and her parents came to hang out with me this week in the studio. At just 4 days old/new, she’s so little!
