I have loved working with Miss Sidney this year! We had a great time during her sessions – both in the studio and on their family farm. Best of luck to you, Sidney, as you choose a college!
I absolutely love the opportunity to travel out of town and photograph seniors….to me, it really makes the session more about the senior as an individual!
So I was stoked when I had the opportunity to travel to Hesston, Kansas, for Kyndra’s senior session! Here are a few of my favorites!
I can’t believe how behind I am on blogging! I’m not behind on posting pictures on Facebook though! 🙂
I wanted to share some images from Jerrod and Traci’s wedding day in Manhattan Kansas! The wedding took place at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, and the reception at Prairiewood Retreat and Preserve. There was so much attention to detail – the day as amazing! Everyone got ready for the day at Prairiewood – after the ceremony we hit up the streets of downtown Manhattan for some images, as well as at Prairiewood. Congrats you two!
So……a few weeks ago (or longer…probably more like a month!) a friend and I had the idea of having a beautiful floral crown made, and stylizing a vintagey, ethereal photo shoot. The friend was no other than Dax Mcloughlin, a talented makeup artist and esthetician here in Hays. We made the plans, ordered the headpiece, and we were quite stoked to pick it up at CS Post from the amazing Norman Keller!
Fast forward to the next day…the day of the shoot….the day that I became quite epically ill with the stomach flu. All the 7up and soda crackers in the world wouldn’t make it go away….so we did the shoot anyway! Although I am so bummed when I look back and think about all the missed opportunities during the shoot because I simply was physically unable to stand up any longer and set up more shots, I am so excited we set this up and made it work! I think we got some amazing shots, and I look forward to styling another shoot!
Seniors, adding a fun accessory like the floral crown can really make your session stand out in the crowd! Just a few shots, a small portion of your session, and we can create some truly awesome, unique, stylized shots.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the session, or if you would be interested in incorporating this look and feel into your senior session with me!
Paul and Jody had a windy, rainy May Day wedding, but the weather didn’t deter! The beautiful historic Seelye Mansion in Abilene provided a lovely ceremony site, and the Civic Center offered a venue for the fun reception. We even braved the weather for an awesome rain shot!!
It was so exciting to see my high school classmate marry such a nice guy! Congrats to you both!
